What Is a Non-Surgical Facelift?

A non-surgical facelift is a combination of non-surgical or minimally invasive procedures to restore a younger, fresher, and more attractive look to your face. Dr. Yash has refined his approach to improve on the more temporary treatments offered by some practitioners.

  • Neck or chin (submental) liposuction to remove excess fat
  • Micro-liposuction of jowl fat to sculpt the jawline
  • Transfer of the fat extracted with liposuction (autologous fat grafting) to restore facial volume where it has thinned or hollowed with age
  • Radiofrequency (RF) skin tightening to improve skin tone and quality
  • Chemical peel to even skin tone and restore a bright, smooth complexion
  • Botox Cosmetic®, Dysport®, or Xeomin® — neuromodulators that soften expression lines and creases
  • Dermal fillers, such as Restylane®, Juvederm®, Sculptra®, or Radiesse®, to add volume to round the cheeks or plump the lips, or to fill and soften facial lines and wrinkles.

These injectable treatments are not as long-lasting as fat grafting but can produce beautiful results that can be refreshed every few months.

Younger patients who don’t need facial rejuvenation but would like more definition in the lower face may benefit from a non-surgical jawline enhancement. This includes:

  • Liposuction to remove excess fat from under the chin and sculpt the jowls
  • Botox injections in the jaw
  • Injections of dermal fillers to improve jawline definition

Dr. Yash will customize the specific combination of treatments in your non-surgical facelift to your needs and goals for facial rejuvenation and enhancement.

What Are the Benefits of a Non-Surgical Facelift in Dallas, TX?

A non-surgical facelift restores a younger look to your face, adding definition and volume where needed, removing unwanted pockets of excess fat, and improving your skin tone and complexion.

The combination of treatments can:

  • Smooth wrinkles and lines to leave your face radiant, smooth, and firm
  • Enhance the definition of the jawline
  • Correct loss of facial volume in the cheeks and under the eyes

The improvements from a non-surgical facelift can strengthen your self-esteem and confidence. Additionally, it’s done without surgery or with minimally invasive liposuction and fat grafting for a quick recovery.

A non-surgical facelift can’t correct significant skin laxity or deep lines and creases. A surgical facelift is needed for that. However, the treatment can work wonders to restore a younger look in the early stages of facial aging.

He feels strongly that he needs to educate patients on what gives them the most value, and he focuses on what should be done instead of simply what could be done. What Should I Know About the Treatments That Might be Included in My Non-Surgical Facelift?

Liposuction is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure to remove specific areas of unwanted fat. A thin tube, or cannula, is inserted through small incisions and moved back and forth to loosen the fat, which is then removed by suction. Liposuction can be performed with great precision to slim the contours of the neck, chin, and jowls in a non-surgical facelift.

Autologous facial fat grafting uses the fat extracted with liposuction to add volume to parts of the face that look thin or hollowed. The extracted fat is processed to break it down into liquefied form, then injected into the areas on the face where more volume is needed. A portion of the fat transferred in a fat-grafting procedure is processed out of the body, but most of it remains in place as an enhancement that lasts for years.

Radiofrequency (RF) skin tightening uses the heating effect of radiofrequency energy to stimulate the production of collagen in the skin. As more collagen is produced in the treated area, the skin increases in resilience, with properties of younger skin, tightening where it has begun to loosen and sag.

A chemical peel removes the outer layer of skin, with its roughness and uneven coloring, and triggers the growth of smoother, brighter, evenly colored skin to replace it. Dr. Yash uses a medium chemical peel in a non-surgical facelift, which is powerful enough to brighten and smooth the complexion but not so strong that it requires downtime for recovery.

Botox and other neuromodulators work by relaxing muscles below the skin that have caused lines and creases to form. When the muscles are relaxed with Botox treatment, the surface wrinkles have a chance to smooth and recover. Botox treatments to the neck and jaw have the same effect, eliminating lines and wrinkles and restoring a younger appearance. Results of treatment with neuromodulators last from a few months to a year before they need to be refreshed with another application.

Dermal fillers are made from hyaluronic acid, a substance that occurs naturally in the body. When dermal fillers are injected into the middle layers of the skin, they add volume, helping the skin retain moisture and promoting the production of collagen. Dermal fillers can be used to soften wrinkles and creases, plump the lips, add roundness to the cheeks, or fill hollows under the eyes. Results of dermal filler treatment last from a few months to more than a year and can then be repeated.

What Can I Expect In My Non-Surgical Facelift Treatment?

Before

Dr. Yash will consult with you to understand your goals for the treatment. He will examine your face, paying special attention to the quality and resilience of your skin. Based on your conversation and his assessment, he will recommend the combination of treatments that he considers best suited to your needs. These treatments are non-invasive or (in the case of liposuction) minimally invasive, so they don’t always require anesthesia or sedation.

During

Each of the treatments in a non-surgical facelift involves a unique procedure:

  • If liposuction is included in your procedure, a local anesthetic will be used so that you don’t feel the small incisions made for insertion of the cannula. Once the excess fat is removed, the incisions are closed. You can then go home. You’ll need to arrange for someone to be with you at home for the first 24 hours.
  • For injections of transferred fat, Botox, or dermal fillers, the area is cleaned, and a topical anesthetic is used to minimize any discomfort from the injections. You may receive multiple injections, depending on the extent of your treatment. Most injectable treatments take about an hour and sometimes less.
  • For radiofrequency (RF) skin tightening, your skin is cleaned thoroughly, and the application device is then directed at and moved over the area to be treated. You’ll feel your skin warming as the energy is applied. Treatment lasts about an hour.
  • A chemical peel involves applying a mild acidic chemical, which is left on the skin for controlled lengths of time. The substances are then neutralized with a cool saline compress. When the applications are removed, dead and aging tissue in the outer layer of your skin comes off with them.

After

After your non-surgical facelift, you are free to go home. Depending on the treatments included, you may be able to immediately resume your daily activities. Dr. Yash will provide you with post-treatment care instructions and will be available if you have any immediate questions or issues.
