High-Definition Liposuction in Dallas, TX, with Dr. Yash

You’re in shape and close to your ideal weight with healthy eating and exercise habits, but you’re still bothered by pockets of resistant fat. Those unwanted bulges might be on your abdomen, thighs, arms, chin, or elsewhere on your body — everyone has unique patterns of fat retention. For many years, liposuction has offered a minimally invasive way to get rid of lingering accumulations of fat like these, and it remains a remarkably effective body-contouring procedure. Now, high-definition liposuction takes body contouring to new levels of body-sculpting precision and artistry.

High-definition liposuction uses ultrasound energy to break up small areas of fat that cover muscle tissue, sharpening the definition of these muscles to give you a toned, fit appearance. The precision of this new technology also allows aesthetic shaping of the remaining fat to enhance your natural curves.

What Is High-Definition Liposuction?

Like traditional liposuction, high-definition liposuction is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that uses thin tubes, or cannulas, inserted through tiny incisions, to extract excess fat from specific areas of the body. High-definition liposuction improves upon traditional liposuction techniques by using ultrasound energy to break up the fat before removal.

The ultrasound energy used in high-definition liposuction converts clusters of semisolid fat into single fat cells in a liquid state. When the fat is in this liquid state, it can be removed more easily and with greater precision using the liposuction cannula. Liquefying the fat also allows more of it to be removed in the procedure.

Where traditional liposuction removes deep fat tissue, typically after breaking it up mechanically, high-definition liposuction also enables the removal of superficial fat layers just below the skin. Fat can also be removed from one spot and left alone in another, with a natural gradation between the two. This precisely controlled multi-dimensional slimming can produce remarkably toned and sculpted results. Muscles that had been hidden behind layers of fat now show and curves are enhanced.

Why Might I Consider High-Definition Liposuction?

High-definition liposuction is an ideal solution when you want a finely controlled slimming effect in specific areas of your body to put the finishing touches on the toning and conditioning you’ve achieved with diet and exercise. Like traditional liposuction, the treatment can be applied to almost any area of the body. High-definition liposuction is particularly well-suited to making muscles more visible and giving them better definition.

Popular treatment areas include the:

  • Abdomen
  • Waist and hips (especially for women)
  • Chest (especially for men)
  • Upper arms
  • Shoulders
  • Lower back and flanks
  • Thighs (especially for women)
  • Buttocks

Multiple areas of the body can be treated, either by combining in a single treatment session or treating in separate sessions.

Honesty and integrity are the cornerstones of Dr. Avashia’s process. He feels strongly that he needs to educate patients on what gives them the most value, and he focuses on what should be done instead of simply what could be done. He will only recommend procedures that will help achieve your goals. Dr. Avashia knows that not everyone “needs the knife,” and he will recommend nonsurgical solutions when appropriate in order to give you a more minimally invasive solution to achieve your goals.

Liposuction Vs. High Definition Liposuction

Compared to traditional liposuction, high-definition liposuction has several advantages. These include:

  • Greater precision and control in creating sculpted body-contouring results
  • Enhanced muscle definition and smoother curves
  • Skin tightening for smooth appearance in the treated area
  • Less damage to blood vessels, nerves, and connective tissues for a faster and more comfortable recovery

In another improvement over traditional liposuction, the fat removed using high-definition liposuction is particularly well-suited to use in fat transfer procedures. Fat transfer can add fullness to hollowed or sunken areas of the face or volume elsewhere on the body. Women often opt for fat transfer to add roundness to the breasts or buttocks. Men often have fat transferred to their shoulders, chest, or buttocks to enhance a muscular look.

Liposuction, both traditional and high-definition, is a body-sculpting treatment, not a way to lose weight. The best results are achieved in men and women who are at or near their ideal weight.

Am I a Good Candidate for High-Definition Liposuction in Dallas, TX?

You are probably a good candidate for high-definition liposuction if you:

  • have pockets of excess fat in parts of your body that remain even after losing weight with healthy eating and exercise habits
  • are at or close to your ideal weight
  • have good skin quality (not loose or saggy in the areas to be treated)
  • want a toned look that brings out muscle definition
  • do not smoke (or are able to quit tobacco for four weeks before and four weeks after the procedure)
  • are in good health

What Can I Expect Before, During, and After My Dallas HD Liposuction Procedure?

Dr. Yash is a partner in the Dallas Plastic Surgery Institute and will perform your high-definition liposuction procedure in the Institute’s state-of-the-art surgery center. The Institute is the top facility for aesthetic surgery in Dallas and among the best in the country. You will arrive on surgery day, check in, and meet with Dr. Yash and your anesthesia provider. You will then be carefully anesthetized with general anesthesia and taken into the operating room.

Small incisions are made, and the areas to be treated are filled with a medical solution. An ultrasound-emitting rod is inserted through the incisions, and energy is applied through it to break clusters of fat down into individual fat cells. This liquefied fat is then suctioned out through the liposuction cannula. In liquified and separated form, the fat can be removed without disturbing blood vessels, nerves, or connective tissue, which allows for less trauma to the treated area and less swelling and bruising in recovery.

When sufficient fat has been removed to create the desired results, the incisions are closed.

High-definition liposuction is performed as an outpatient procedure. Once you are alert again after your anesthesia, a friend or family member can drive you home to begin your recovery. Dr. Yash will provide you with a full list of post-operative instructions and will be available if you have any immediate questions or issues.

What Can I Expect in Recovery?

You will need someone to stay at home with you for the first 24 hours, and it will be helpful to have occasional assistance for the first week. You can expect some mild swelling and bruising in the treated areas at first. You’ll be provided with a compression garment to minimize these effects and promote healing. Any early discomfort can be treated with pain medication, following Dr. Yash’s guidance.

Patients can return to work as soon as they feel comfortable, which is typically within a few days. Dr. Yash will advise you to avoid all but light activities for the first two weeks, after which you can gradually build up to more strenuous activity over the following month.

You’ll see the results of the procedure after about a week when the swelling and bruising subside, and you’ll continue to look better over the next few months as all residual swelling disappears and the skin tightening from the ultrasound takes effect.
