Jawline Rejuvenation in Dallas, Texas

A well-defined jawline is a crucial element in an attractive, youthful, and healthy appearance. While we tend to focus our attention on the center of the face — the eyes, nose, and mouth — a soft and saggy jawline can make you look older and flabbier than you’d like. On the other hand, a sharp, defined jawline can give you a younger, toned look. Dr. Yash Avashia offers surgical and nonsurgical jawline rejuvenation, depending on your needs. His results are beautifully natural-looking.

Dr. Yash has specialized training and extensive experience in surgical and nonsurgical cosmetic treatments. He has a profound appreciation for the delicate aspects of facial anatomy, and applies his extensive medical knowledge to produce outstanding results.

What Is Jawline Rejuvenation?

Jawline rejuvenation is cosmetic treatment to give more definition and sharpness to the contours of the jawline. Depending on the extent of skin laxity and accumulated fat under the jaws and chin and in the neck, the treatment might include a combination of nonsurgical and minimally invasive procedures, or it might require surgery to tighten skin and eliminate sagging jowls.

Nonsurgical Jawline Rejuvenation

Dr. Yash has refined his approach to nonsurgical jawline rejuvenation to improve on the more temporary treatments offered by some practitioners. If you are younger and don’t need surgery to correct sagging skin under the jaw or on the neck, Dr. Yash can enhance your jawline with a combination of less invasive treatments. His nonsurgical jawline enhancement typically includes:

  • Neck or chin (submental) liposuction to remove excess fat from under the chin and sculpt the jowls
  • Botox® injections in the jaw to relax the masseter muscle for a slimming effect on the lower face and jaw
  • Botox injections in the neck to reduce neck lines and vertical banding for a younger look
  • Injections of blended dermal filler to improve jawline definition, adding volume where needed

Surgical Jawline Rejuvenation

For patients with moderate to advanced skin laxity — where the skin has lost the resilience needed to tighten after excess fat removal — Dr. Yash offers surgical jawline rejuvenation. This procedure typically includes:

  • A neck lift to remove excess skin from the neck and the area below the chin and jaws, to eliminate hanging jowls, turkey neck, neck banding, and other signs of facial aging
  • Neck or chin (submental) liposuction to remove excess fat from under the chin and sculpt the jowls

Some patients might wish to consider chin or jaw augmentation with implants as part of a surgical jawline enhancement. Jaw implants add definition to the jawline by extending it, either under the ears or near the chin. Chin implants strengthen and extend a weak or receding chin.

Honesty and integrity are the cornerstones of Dr. Avashia’s process. He feels strongly that he needs to educate patients on what gives them the most value, and he focuses on what should be done instead of simply what could be done. What Should I Know About the Treatments That Might Be Part of My Jawline Rejuvenation?

Liposuction is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure to remove specific areas of unwanted fat. Dr. Yash inserts a thin tube, or cannula, through small incisions and moves it back and forth to loosen the fat, which he then removes by suction. Precisely performed liposuction can slim the contours of the neck, chin, and jowls as part of a jawline rejuvenation.

Botox and other neuromodulators work by relaxing muscles below the skin that are causing lines and creases to form. When Botox treatment relaxes the muscles, the surface wrinkles have a chance to smooth and recover. Neck and jawline Botox in Dallas can eliminate lines and wrinkles, thin the contours of the jaw, and restore a younger appearance. Results of treatment with neuromodulators last from a few months to a year before they need a touch-up.

Dermal fillers consist of hyaluronic acid, a substance that occurs naturally in the body. Injecting dermal fillers into the middle layers of the skin adds volume, helps the skin retain moisture, and promotes new collagen production. Dr. Yash can use dermal fillers to add volume where necessary to strengthen and define the jawline. Filler injections can fill in notching to smooth and straighten the jawline. Results of dermal filler treatment last from a few months to more than a year before needing maintenance.

A neck lift (in a surgical jawline rejuvenation) removes loosened, hanging skin under the jawline and smooths the skin on the neck. Dr. Yash obtains beautifully natural-looking and long-lasting results by lifting and tightening the underlying muscles and connective tissue as part of a neck lift.

Why Might I Consider Jawline Rejuvenation?

Jawline rejuvenation enhances the definition of the jawline to make your face more attractive and give you a younger and healthier appearance. You might consider jawline rejuvenation if your cosmetic concerns include:

  • Soft, poorly defined jawline contours
  • Drooping jowls
  • Sagging skin in the lower part of your face
  • Pockets of fat under your chin and jawline
  • A weak-looking jaw or chin
  • “Notching” along the jawline (indents just below the outside corners of the mouth)
  • A square, heavy jawline
  • Marionette lines on the sides of the mouth

The improvements made with jawline rejuvenation can make men and women look and feel more attractive, strengthening their self-esteem and self-confidence.

What Can I Expect In My Jawline Rejuvenation Treatment?

Before

Dr. Yash will consult with you to understand your goals for the treatment. He will examine your face, paying special attention to the quality and resilience of the skin in the lower part of your face and neck. Based on your conversation and his assessment, he will recommend the combination of treatments that he considers best for your needs. Non-invasive Botox and dermal fillers and minimally invasive liposuction don’t necessitate anesthesia or sedation. A surgical neck lift requires general anesthesia.

During

Each of the treatments in jawline rejuvenation involves a unique procedure:

If liposuction is part of your procedure, Dr. Yash will use a local anesthetic, so you don’t feel the small incisions made for inserting the cannula. Having removed the excess fat from your neck or under your jaw and chin, Dr. Yash closes the incisions. You can then go home. You’ll need to arrange for someone to be with you at home for the first 24 hours.

For Botox or dermal filler injections, Dr. Yash cleans the area and applies a topical anesthetic to minimize any discomfort from the injections. You may receive multiple injections, depending on the extent of your concerns. Most injectable treatments take about an hour, and sometimes less.

In a surgical neck lift, Dr. Yash makes small, discreet incisions that he will use to remove excess skin, smooth the neck and lower part of the face, and sharpen the definition to the jawline.

After

After jawline rejuvenation, you are free to go home. You will need someone to drive you if you’ve had general anesthesia or sedation. Dr. Yash will provide you with post-treatment care instructions and will be available if you have any immediate questions or issues.

After Jawline Rejuvenation Treatment

You will need some downtime for recovery if liposuction is part of your nonsurgical facelift treatment, and can expect some bruising and swelling in the first few days. The other treatments included in a non-surgical facelift may leave you with some short-term discomfort, but usually do not require downtime for recovery.

Dr. Yash sees nonsurgical jawline rejuvenation patients for follow-up one week, two weeks, and a month after treatment. He will provide you with a special face garment to wear for two weeks, when you are at home, and for another two weeks at night.

After surgical jawline rejuvenation, you’ll need a couple of days to rest before you start gradually resuming your normal activities. Most patients can get back to vigorous exercise and activities about three weeks after surgery.

Results of jawline rejuvenation are visible as soon as the immediate post-treatment swelling goes down, and continue to improve over the following weeks as all residual swelling disappears.
