A Conversation With Dr. Yash

I decided on a career in medicine early on, right out of high school. I was accepted into an honors program in medicine at the University of Miami that combined college and medical school in 7 years. It was during my time in medical school that I discovered my love for human anatomy. I would spend hours dissecting and mastering the intricacies of anatomy. I was fortunate in medical school to have the influence of and exposure to some remarkable aesthetic surgeons, but I didn’t decide to focus my career in aesthetic medicine until my formal plastic surgery training at Duke University. After medical school, I matched into the prestigious Duke University Medical Center for plastic and reconstructive surgery residency. My formal training was extensive in all areas of plastic surgery, particularly the complex reconstruction of the face, breast, and body. It was during my time at Duke that I developed a keen passion for nasal and facial anatomy. To further hone my passion for aesthetic surgery, I moved to Dallas to complete an Aesthetic Surgery Fellowship at the Dallas Plastic Surgery Institute. This fellowship is acclaimed as the top aesthetic surgery fellowship in the country, training under the preeminent surgeon, Dr. Rod Rohrich.

I find fulfillment in being able to help patients regain confidence. Whether I’m operating on the nose, face, breast, or body, my ultimate goal is to help patients find harmony between what they see — how they appear to themselves and others — and how they feel. No one should be self-conscious about the way they look. Confidence is something that we all innately have inside, but sometimes, it is masked when we’re self-conscious about the way we look.

I take a patient-centered approach in my practice and aim for a culture of transparency. I stress the value of an open patient-doctor relationship. Patients who seek plastic surgery often do so with a particular goal in mind. I want patients to feel comfortable when they come to me, knowing that I will listen to them and their concerns and recommend the best options to achieve their goals. I believe in both surgical and nonsurgical approaches. Sometimes patients are better served by one or the other, and sometimes by both. By combining a patient-centered approach with open and honest communication and cutting-edge technology and techniques, I strive to deliver the best possible results for my patients and a positive plastic surgery experience.

Patients choose me because they feel they’ve been listened to and because I spent time explaining to them the various aspects of their exam and the proposed surgery.
